In this episode, you’ll hear a conversation between Naomi Steijger and festival director Tjitske Mussche about her series De zeven levens van Betty: Coldcase op de Wallen (Podimo | Dag en Nacht). In the series, Naomi tells how, while working as a cashier in the Red Light District, she comes across the unsolved murder of sex worker Betty Szabo through a former police officer. What begins as a classic true-crime story soon takes a turn: it’s not the perpetrator but Betty herself who becomes the mystery. Who was Betty Szabo — victim, mother, dangerous woman?
